So, I encountered this meme by Kate McDonough Comics and Art sometime toward the beginning of the shutdown. Let me just say, it resonated with me DEEPLY.

It resonated so deeply that I just stopped. I stopped trying to manage multiple websites, I stopped logging on facebook back in March. I stopped doing everything except the things I needed to do for my job and the things I felt like doing for my creativity. I focused on the human beings I have been sharing space with during this time and shut out social media nearly entirely.

What have been my results? Well for me it has been wonderful. I had time to think about what I really want my future to look like. To live in the moment, among the people I have shared space with during this lock down experience.

It's helped me to feel out how to begin writing about sensitive topics and social issues again. It's shown me where I was pushing myself to hard, and when I absolutely had to put boundaries up to protect my own energy and take the space I need for myself to rest and recharge. Which I haven't been doing very much of the last 3 years of my life. We'll talk about that soon.

Stay tuned for more.
